so i was tinkering around with my iPad as usual, and i figured there must be a better way to browse reddit [reddit.com] other than using Safari, which tends to reload previous pages if the system's measly 256mb of RAM runs out and the virtual memory hack [blogspot.com] isn't implemented.
i know that the iPhone version of Alien Blue [alienblue.org] worked brilliantly as a reddit browser, so i figured i'll just use it, and up its resolution on my iPad using FullForce.
now, there's obviously a HD version of Alien Blue for iPads on Appstore, but that costs like 4 bucks, so i wasn't exactly sure if i should fork out my money for something that is still available for free (albeit the iPhone version). of course, you'd need a jailbroken iPad to install FullForce, and i've got a short write up on it in case you still haven't taken the plunge yet ;-)
anyway, i went into App Store and installed the iPhone version of Alien Blue. i figured i'd be happy with whatever functionality i had with the iPhone version, and the increased resolution from FullForce should make me a happy camper. instead, this is what i got when i rotated my iPad to landscape mode.
that, my friends, rocked my socks. if this itself isn't reason enough to unshackle yourselves from apple's walled garden model, i don't know what is.
